The metaphor of God as a loving Father implies we are His children. As parents, we are given a unique insight into the workings of this relationship. Our behavior towards God can be found in the everyday interactions with our own children. Even if you are not a parent, you were probably once a child.
This collection of stories is meant to provide analogies that might help you understand your relationship with God a little better. At the least, I hope they make you think. Being a “child” does not mean that we should be “childish”. As in any relationship, there are two individuals that have to work together. Understanding the others' point of view is critical.
God understands where you are coming from, even if you think He doesn't. Do you understand understand His motivations?
