Understand: Webster defines as "to graps the meaning of". This site will explore different methods for contemplating your relationship with God. By studying your relationship with God, you may find answers to questions that have bugged you for years. Clarity may breed that closeness that you have been looking for.

My: Webster defines as "of or pertaining to me". The point is, it's not about what other people think of your relationship. What's important is Your view of the relationship. Are You close to Your God? Do You want to be? Other perspectives can help us in our quest, but in the end it's Your relationship to Your God.

God: Webster defines as "the supreme or ultimate reality". In today's workld, reality is not always an easy thing to identify or understand. The key is that God is The ultimate reality. God exists. I am I am, as God told Moses. If you want a meaningful relationship with God, you need to study and understand that reality.

So, this site is going to help me grasp the meaning of ultimate reality? I don't know about that. I do know that through studying your relationship, you can gain a better understanding. Through a better understanding, you can gain a deeper relationship.

You cannot have a meaningful relationship with someone you do not understand and who doesn't understand you. If God is the "ultimate reality", odds are God understands you. The question is, do You understand God?

God the Father - Me the Child

We are all familiar with the term "God's Children", but have you ever taken the time to delve into that metaphore? Can our relationship with our parents and with our children help us to better understand our relationship with God?

The following are excerpts from a book of meditations that deal with this topic.

The metaphor of God as a loving Father implies we are His children. As parents, we are given a unique insight into the workings of this relationship. Our behavior towards God can be found in the everyday interactions with our own children. Even if you are not a parent, you were probably once a child.

This collection of stories is meant to provide analogies that might help you understand your relationship with God a little better. At the least, I hope they make you think. Being a “child” does not mean that we should be “childish”. As in any relationship, there are two individuals that have to work together. Understanding the others' point of view is critical.

God understands where you are coming from, even if you think He doesn't. Do you understand understand His motivations?
